This page is a bit older. I made it for Studio Tekturek while I was on my blogging break, and wanted to share her as well. I’m inclined to write down that this is one of my favorite layouts from the past weeks. But as I’m sharing all those past projects here, one after the other, I catch myself in the act of saying/thinking that about almost all of my projects. I love this hobby!
The bold chevron background is an eye-catcher for sure. It’s one of the papers from the Peachy Christmas collection that spoke out to me the most. I just had to use it as a background for one of my projects. The picture of my girl on the other hand is a lot softer, so I felt like I had to create some sort of mat to lead your eye to the picture. I started out with a couple of layers of tissue paper, before adding some of those die-cut cards from the Sweet Memories collection.
I used a manufacturers strip from the Sweet Memories collection along the picture, the Hey Girl chipboard letters from BasicGrey were the perfect match in color. I mixed and matched embellishments from different manufacturers, old and new to finish up this layout. On the right side there’s a shipping tag to slide out with some hidden journaling on it.
The picture was taken when Nora was 3.5 yrs old. Dressing up was nothing for her back then, getting her face painted was unthinkable. When her teacher requested that all kids would come to class dressed up as clowns for Mardi Grass, a colorful combination of her everyday clothes and fun pony tales was the best I could do. In class all kids got a red dot on their nose for the party, our Nora refused, but eventually, when all kids were ready, she got back to her teacher to get her nose painted. Those were her first steps. In the meantime we have a full blown princess on our hands, who loves to dress up and wear matching make up.
Have a great day!
Els.
