The Weekend Guest | Shelley Haganman

The Weekend GuestI’m happy to introduce you to a new Weekend Guest today. This Weekend Guest is special to me, since Shelley is kind of my boss lady. She’s the creative genius and business lady behind A Flair For Buttons. And I couldn’t be more honored to have her on my blog today. Apart from her flair business, Shelley is a busy bee, who’s also a very talented papercrafter. And that is exactly why I asked her to be part of this series. Give her a warm welcome!

Hello everyone! I am so happy to be here to share my project with you as a Weekend Guest on Els Brige blog!

My name is Shelley Haganman and I am from the US. I live in Iowa City, Iowa. It is a college town and home of the University of Iowa and University of Iowa Hospital. I graduated from Nursing School here and have worked at the University for 27 years. By day I am an Operating Room Nurse but in the evenings I scrap! I have been a single mom of three for 20 years. My children are 25, 23, and 21. I have an adult with Autism who lives with me . I have been scrapping for many years and have been on several Design Teams. I currently am on the Maya Road DT. I also started my own business called “A Flair for Buttons” two years ago. I design, create, and make flair buttons that many scrappers use in their scrappy projects and Project Life pages.  I love repurposing things into scrappy projects. I love traveling and photography and those two interests combined make up a lot of my projects that I create. I hope you will enjoy my project!

WHERE I FIND INSPIRATION | I LOVE Pinterest! I also love visiting others blogs for new ideas!

WHERE I CREATE | I took over my daughter’s room downstairs in my home that is ALL mine! I love having my own space that I can leave and come back to and not have to put things away.

Today I thought I would share with you one of my favorite things……Instagram photos! I simply LOVE Instagram and the ability to document things as they happen. I use my Instagram pics for many things. I used Blurb to make photobooks. But today I will share how I like to have my instagrams printed and how I use them around my house!

Currently I use Origrami to print my instagram photos. There are a lot of options out there but I really like their products! I mean how cute is this packaging!!!

The first way I like to use my Instagram photos is by putting magnets on the back of them and displaying them on this metal ceiling tile I found at a flea market. It’s so easy to move them around or switch them out when I am ready to do so!

Another way I like to display them is by using flower “frogs”. They come in all shapes and sizes and colors. I just spray paint them if I want them to be a certain color.

And finally I LOVE to use them in making mini albums and other scrappy projects. I used the 5×4 prints in this project. My favorite ones are the square photo prints. This sized worked perfectly with the 5×5 kraft CD sleeves that I used to make the base of my album. The sleeves are great because they can hold more photos or journaling. I used my Bind-it-all to bind this album but metal snap rings would work great too. And since I am the owner of {a flair for buttons} I had to add some flair to my project as well!

What an adorable little album and I don’t know why I never thought about sticking my photos in a flower frog! I’m going to have to check out origami because that packaging is adorable!
