I would love to share one of my summertime projects with you today. I took a little break from papercrafting early on in the summer, to take on this crazyness: sewing a tent for my kids. The idea started growing a few months back, when I saw this fabulous striped fabric at Ikea. I bought a couple of yards of it, but my brain had to think things over a couple of times to come up with a plan, I had never taken on a sewing project like this.
And this is what I ended up with. Basically I cut 4 triangles out of my fabric, and kept the stripes horizontal. I made tunnels along the joints inside the tent to slide the posts in. The posts can be removed easily so the tent can get a wash when necessary. A piece of ribbon, made from leftovers from my fabric, keeps everything in place.
The kids love to hide in there when playing. By throwing the front panels back, the tent stays open. The inside view is amazing.
Thanks for stopping by!
