Schudden maar!/Shake it! | Joke

Ik zal het meteen maar toegeven; ik ben verslaafd aan schudkaarten maken. Verslaafd met een hoofdletter V. Schudkaarten kunnen supersimpel zijn, en dan nog zijn ze speciaal. Vandaag maakte ik een schudkaart voor een meisje wat communie gaat doen. Het mocht dus ook best wel speciaal zijn. – I will admit it immediately: I’m addicted to shakercards. Addicted with a capital A. shakercards can be super simple, and yet they’re special. Today I made a shaker for a girl’s first communion. So it was allowed to be special.

Eerst sneed ik uit wit papier een paar cirkels, die ik op elkaar plakte. Daarna knipte ik acetaat op maat en plakte dat er bovenop. Daar weer bovenop kwam een cirkel van goud glitterpapier, om het af te werken. Met een achtergrondsnijmal sneed ik uit mintgroen een mooie achtergrond, die ik op een witte kaart plakte. Ik vond het een beetje een kant-achtig effect krijgen zo! – First I cut several circles out of white paper. I glued them on top of each other. Then I cut acetate to size, glued that on top of the circles, and as a finishing touch I glued a gold glitter circle on top of that. Using a background die I made a background out of mint green paper. I think it has a lacy look, don’t you?

Daarna ging ik aan de slag met de prachtige ‘Ranonkel’ set van Els. Ik kleurde één van de bloemen in met alcohol markers, en sneed deze uit met de bijpassende mal. Daarna stempelde ik het woord ‘gefeliciteerd’ van de ‘Proficiat’ set, en ook de bijpassende tekstjes komen uit deze set. ‘Gefeliciteerd’ heeft gelukkig ook een snijmal, dus ik hoefde het niet zelf uit te knippen! Gek toch, dat ik een aantal jaar geleden snijmallen maar een verspilling van geld vond. Ik ben er nu zó blij mee! – After that I grabbed the beautiful ‘Ranonkel’/’Ranunculus’ set from Els. I coloured one of the flowers using alcohol markers, and cut it out using the matching die. Then I stamped the word ‘Gefeliciteerd’/’Congratulations’ out of the ‘Proficiat’/’Congrats’ set, and also the subsentiments. The word ‘Gefeliciteerd’ has a matching die, lucky me, so I didn’t have to fussycut it. It’s crazy that only a couple of years ago I thought dies were a waste of money. I so love them now!

Nu alleen de kaart nog afmaken! Ik schudde wat glitter op de achtergrond en plakte de cirkel er over heen. De bloem plakte ik half over de cirkel, en de teksten gaf ik ook een mooi plekje. En nu…schudden maar! – Now to finish the card! I put a little glitter on a pile on the background and glued the circle on top of it. The flower I glued partly over the circle, and I placed the sentiments around it. Now all that’s left to do is…shake it!
