This month’s challenge theme over on the Ribbon carousel blog is back to school. A perfect moment for scrapping those traditional first day pics.
And this year was special, since both our kids were going to school. For the first time, Tuur was tagging along with his sister. They were both very excited for this new start, hence the smiling faces on the pictures. For my layout I used a whole lot of Crate Paper goodness. In between my pictures, I used one of the DIY Shop journaling cards and put a brown doily die-cut from the Maggie Holmes collection on top of it. A great spot for one of the vintage Milk Cap flairs from A Flair for Buttons.
The dark brown polka dot strip is actually fabric tape from BasicGrey’s Mint Julep collection. I love the subtle bit of texture it adds to the page. To finish up this page, I used a few enamel dots in yellow and red, as well as some of the blue Freckled Fawn dew drops from my new Oh Deer Me kit. After thinking about it for a while, I finally decided to subscribe to the Freckled Fawn embellishment kit. And to be honest, the first kit made me not regret my decision. It’s gorgeous!
Today’s layout is my last contribution as a Ribbon Carousel DT member. With a heavy heart, I’m stepping down from the team. I’ve been a part of this amazing group of ladies for 1,5 years, and I’ve learned more than I could ever have imagined. It’s been an honor.
Thanks for stopping by today!
Els.
