Ribbon Carousels‘ July challenge theme is Heritage, Country Pride and celebrations. And even though here in Belgium, we do have our National Holiday in July as well, we’re less of the celebrating types. Although we might have to put in some extra efforts this year, as we’re getting a new king on our National Holiday. So for the RCC challenge I chose to go with celebrations, and made a card again.
I seem to be making a lot of cards again the last few weeks. I spend the last year almost exclusively on scrapbooking, and now I have found my love for cardmaking again. I added a bit of mixed media for this one. I spread a layer of gesso along the bottom part of my card base, to give it somewhat more protection against the wetness of the water coloring. On top of the gesso I colored with a gelato and added plenty of water.
The mason jar is stamped onto vellum and then trimmed out. I glued some golden stars onto the background underneath as if they’re in the jar. I’m proud to say that the sentiment stamp is my own, I stamped it in black StazOn.
I hope you can paly along with us this month. There’s one of those awesome ribbon carousels up for grabs.
