I’m beyond thrilled to share my first spread of my Project Life album here on my blog today. It’s been an exciting process so far. I find myself struggling quite a bit when putting these pages together, there’s definitely no routine to it yet. And I happen to feel pretty insecure about my work. But what I do know, is that this album makes me smile when going through it, spread after spread. I love the pages I made so far, and judging from my kids’ enthusiasm when the album is out, I think they do too.
Week 25 was made for and showns on the Pinkfresh Studio blog last week, so I used quite a bit of Pinkfresh products on these pages. Almost everything else is from the June Project Life and card kit by Studio Calico.
For this week’s title card, I used a black and white journaling card by Studio Calico. I covered the patterned section with this yellow polka dot paper, because it just worked better with the rest of my spread. I kept the lower half with the room to write down the date. The blue transparent alphas were in Pinkfresh Studio’s first limited edition embellishment kit. I stapled them onto the card. The ‘Life is Beautiful’ stamp is also from Pinkfresh Studio.
In this particular week my husband and I celebrated 9 years of marriage. I added a picture of the card I made him. The jars journaling card was a free printable by Studio Calico. The beautiful ‘You and Me’ stamp by Pinkfresh Studio gave the card a bit more interest. I just love how it turned out.
The homemade pizza picture landed on a beautiful white woodgrain patterned paper. I again used the blue alphas here, this time partly overlapping one of the enamel label stickers that also was in the limited edition embellishment kit from Pinkfresh Studio. I love these label stickers so much, enought to trim away the part that is hidden under the picture to save so I can use it again on another project;)
As week 25 was not jam packed with events and pictures, I had to consider whether to make a double spread for it, or combine it with the week after. Combining didn’t seem like a good idea, week 26 was too big. So week 25 got it’s own double spread. Here’s the right page:
A bit extra room means I got to play with an enlargement. This fun picture of Tuur, taken just after his appointment at the hair dresser, was perfect for that. His excitement makes the spread sparkle. The ‘Happy’ card next to this picture is a transparent filler card from Pinkfresh Studio. It came in a set of 4 cards in the limited edition embellishment kit.
For my journaling card in the lower right corner, I just used a piece of patterned paper. The journaling covers the weekend of this week. Again the stamping and the wood veneer are Pinkfresh.
For my CAS taste, a piece of patterned paper with a simple stamp on it, can sometimes do the trick. For a second there I felt the urge to add just a little bit of embellishing to it, but then decided to just leave it as it is.
To repeat the dark brown woodgrain pattern from the left spread, I placed this picture on a piece of patterned paper. I again used a label, which you’ll see me use quite a bit in this album. The cute scalloped border and the brad sticker are again Pinkfresh.
I hope you enjoyed seeing me take my first steps into this Project Life adventure. Don’t hesitate to let me know what you think:) Thanks for stopping by!
Els.
PS: Since these Project Life spreads are often made with little bits and pieces found here and there in my pile of stash, I’m not going to write down a list of supplies for these posts. If you have a question about any of the elements I used, you can leave it in the comments section below, and I’ll get back to you as soon as possible.
