Welcome to day 2 of the Pinkfresh Studio and Pretty Little Studio blog hop. You should have come here from the blog of Marie-Pierre. If not, go over to the Pinkfresh Studio blog to start hopping.
“Pinkfresh Studio is so excited to join with Pretty Little Studio today to inspire you with some cute creations. Pretty Little Studio is known for their vintage inspired products, which are so fun and colorful. And mixing them up with unique and colorful Pinkfresh Studio embellishments definitely has created some awesome projects. We have a list of designers from both companies who are so thrilled to share their projects with you. Make sure to visit each blog and comment on every one of them, inclusing the Pinkfresh Studio blog, to enter a giveaway. One winner will be chosen for each day and winners will receive 30.00$ worth of stuff from Pinkfresh Studio and 30.00$ GC from Pretty Little Studio. Winners will be announced on the 15th. Good luck!”
While browsing through the Pretty Little Studio shop I fell in love with the Marigold collection. The colors, the design, … everything just spoke to me. So I ordered myself a bunch of the embellishments from that line, and when I finally received them at home, it was like summer in an envelope. So no wonder I made two layouts with a huge summer feel to them.
For this layout, I first started with painting a light layer of gesso onto my background, which made a good foundation for adding the watercolor. I wanted to work with those flower cut-outs in white cardstock, so a bit of color to the background would help make them stand out. After matching the Pretty Little Studio goodness with my Pinkfresh Studio products, I decided to go with a peach/orange and yellow color combo.
After arranging my flowers and stitching them onto my layout, I started laying out my title. The beautiful coral color makes the background color pop. I positioned them onto dimensional adhesive. The Camelia Phrase Strips and Wisteria Word Flags bring in more color and the right sentiments.
I’m totally swooning over these Pinkfresh Studio Chevron Wood Stickers. I almost decided to hoard them, but could resist;) They look so beautiful on this layout. They add color and texture, all in a small embellishment. Love them! What I also love is the look of the Pretty Little Studio Clematis tabs behind my picture. They have the perfect size, not too small, not too large.
For my second layout I went on with the Marigold theme. In the end both layouts turned out to have the same color scheme. I wanted to go more peach and green with this second one, but I really couldn’t find the right shade of green, so yellow it was. I guess I just need to go buy some more paint then;) The background of this layout is made with acrylic paints. I applied them to my page with a palette knife.
I ordered myself the cloud die-cuts from that same Marigold collection, because I wanted to experiment with them. I wanted to add color and texture to them, but since this layout had an eye-catching background, I decided to just keep them white for this layout. I’ll surely be playing with them on another occasion, can’t wait to see what they can take. I have to say I was pretty impressed with the quality of them already, they’re thick and lovely.
I added some of the beautiful enamel label stickers from Pinkfresh Studio in that same peach color. The yellow triangle wood veneers guide your eyes around the page. Some light grey stamping and splatters, along with a soft grey striped backgroung paper finish up the layout.
It’s time to hop on now. But before you go …
For your next stop you’re staying in my neighborhood, hopping to the Netherlands, where the talented Monique Liedtke is waiting for you. Thanks for stopping by!
