Welcome to the first day of my Valentine Inspiration series. We’re jumping right in with a mini-album that I made for the Scrapperin blog. There’s a Valentine Inspiration week going on over on the Scrapperin blog as well and I got it to kick off today. Brace yourself, this is a photo-heavy post.
I made a small mini-album for the occasion, dedicated to my kids. This time of year is an excellent time to be taking a moment to think about the people we love, and about the reasons we love them. I wanted to document these things, as it is so easy to let them slip our minds in the everyday life.
For the cover I used this gorgeous pink diagonal striped paper and covered it with a layer of vellum. This allowed me to stamp a white heart onto it with white StazOn ink to get this lovely chalky toned-down effect. The chipboard heart (and the chipboard letters inside the album) are from BasicGrey’s True Love collection. The fabulous baker’s twine from Garn&Mehr.
It is a pretty easy mini-album, created mostly with a Crate Paper Fourteen 6×6 paper pad, my beloved Scrapperin stamps, and a few letterstickers. All of my pages are 11×15 cm or approximately 4 3/8″ x 6″.
With ink splatters, sequins, stamping, and stitching I added interest to the pages. I used small letter stickers and chipboard letter stickers to add a title to complement each of the pictures.
The black stamping I added to complete the sentences is done with an office supplies stamp with small repositionable letter stamps.
Around each of the pictures there’s a stitched frame, which helps the picture stand out, but in the mean time it just adds a soft touch. The softer colors of the papers and embellishments, makes the pictures and stamping pop.
The stamps from the 31 Wintertage set matched the theme and atmosphere of this album perfectly.
The pictures are taken in the last weeks/months. Since this isn’t an album featuring a certain occasion, you have a bit more freedom for gathering your pictures. I chose a few striking ones of both of the kids and opted to go for black and white ones, since I wanted to add black stamping to my pages.
The backcover is kept really plane and simple with a layer of vellum overtop a patterned paper page. I did stamp the date in the lower right cover.
Thanks for stopping by today! * Bedankt om even langs te komen!
Els.
