The February showcase will be up on the myStamp BOX blog today. All designers agreed to make a project inspired on the Creative Jumpstart series Nathalie Kalbach set up earlier this year. In case you’re not familiar with the concept: Nathalie asked a bunch of amazing designer from around the world to help her make a series to jumpstart our creativity. One of the designers was Heidi Swapp, who certainly sparked something for me with her video. I made this layout inspired by her work.
Heidi Swapp talked in her video about using spray inks along with masks. I immediately fell in love with the stunning effect she created on her page. Since I don’t have an awful lot of masks on hand, I chose to work with a heart as well and placed a chevron mask overtop. The result is stunning, if I may say so myself. The little feet on the layout are Nora’s. She was just a few weeks old back then.
I worked with my beloved IceBox Sprinkler by October Afternoon and with the Water Cooler Mr. Huey from Studio Calico. I first put down both masks and used the Water Cooler color, then removed the chevrons but kept the heart and added the IceBox spray overtop. I finished this up with a layer of hair spray to prevent that the Sprinkler ink would come off.
For the title and a few of the embellishments, I used WOW glitter embossing powder. The title is stamped with the Friday Night Stencil alphabet set by myStamp BOX. It’s a fun set for building titles. The heart stamp is from the Seal it! set, which I also used for the seal next to the resin flower on the left side of the layout.
Don’t forget to stop by the myStamp BOX blog to find out what designers and techniques the rest of the team got inspired by.
