Een tweetal weken geleden ging ik even kijken op het Jot Magazine blog, en zag er dit March Mood Board. Mijn creativiteit was onmiddellijk geprikkeld, en mijn handen wilden aan de slag. Dus dat deed ik. * A week or two ago I came accross the Jot Magazine blog and saw this March Mood Board. My creativity got sparked, and my hands were instantly itching to create. So I just went with it.

Deze kleurencombinatie valt niet echt binnen mijn gewone doen, maar misschien is het net dat wat me zin deed krijgen om aan de slag te gaan. Het voelde als een uitdaging. Ik stempelde eerst de bloemen van Studio Calico’s Little Things set op aquaral papier met Nautical Blue Memento inkt. * This is a color combo I don’t usually turn to, but maybe that’s just what got me going with this layout. It felt like a challenge. I first stamped the amazing florals from Studio Calico’s Little Things set onto watercolor paper with Nautical Blue Memento ink.

Aangezien die Memento inkt er één op waterbasis is, kon ik hem rondwrijven met een natte borstel. Zo gaf ik de bloemen een leuk aquareleffect. * Since that Memento ink is a dye ink, I could dilute some of the ink with a wet brush, and give the flowers a fun watercolor look. 

Voor de spatten op de achtergrond gebruikte ik een combinatie van Lemon Zest Glimmer Mist en Mustard Color Shine van Heidi Swapp. Geen van beide kleuren pastte goed in zijn eentje, samen waren ze perfect. * For the splattering on the background, I used a mixture of some Lemon Zest Glimmer Mist, and Mustard Color Shine by Heidi Swapp. Neither of the colors were matching well on their own, together they were perfect.

Uiteindelijk werd deze layout een mooie mix van oud en nieuw. * This layout turned out to be a fun mixture of old and new.
