Op het moment dat ik dit typ is het 60 dagen voor kerst. Kerst is een bijzondere tijd van het jaar. Met familie en vrienden gezellig bij elkaar zijn. Maar soms mis je iemand tijdens de feestdagen omdat hij/zij overleden is. Een lastige situatie voor velen, want wat zet je dan op je kerstkaart?  ‘Gelukkig kerstfeest’ of ‘fijne feestdagen’ is dan niet zo gepast. Soms zegt dan een andere tekst op een kerstkaart meer dan genoeg. – When typing this, it’s 60 days before Christmas. Christmas is such a special time of the year. Gathering with family and friends. But sometimes you miss someone dearly during the holidays, when he/she passed away. A difficult situation for many, because what will your card say? ‘Merry Christmas’ and ‘Happy Holidays’ might not be suiting. Sometimes another sentiment is appropriate for a Christmas card.

Ik ben begonnen met mijn restjes bak te door zoeken. Op zoek naar traditionele kerstkleuren. Deze kleuren heb ik in strookjes van halve centimeter gesneden. Deze strookjes heb ik geplakt op een wit cardstock van 10 bij 14.5 cm doormiddel van dubbelzijdig tape. – I started sorting through my leftover bin, looking for traditional holiday colors. I cut the leftover pieces into strips of half a centimeter. I then adhered them onto a 10 x 14.5cm piece of white cardstock with double-sided adhesive.

De kerstroos en de blaadjes heb ik ingekleurd met copics. Daarna uit gestanst met de coördinerende stansset. Deze heb ik rechtsonder op de strookjes geplaatst met foamtape.  De tekst is ook getempeld op een dun strookje. Deze komt uit de prettige feestdagen stempelset. Het was even puzzelen hoe ik de tekst wou neer leggen, maar toen ik tevreden was heb ik ze vastgeplakt. Nog even wat bling bling erop en daarna heb ik het geheel op een kaart geplakt van 10.5 bij 15 cm. – I colored the poinsettia and leaves with Copics, and then die-cut them with the matching dies. I adhered them at the bottom right with some foamtape. I stamped the sentiment onto a small strip of paper. The sentiments are from the Prettige feestdagen (=happy holidays) stamp set. I shuffled them around a bit, before setting my mind to a placement. I then adhered them and added some bling, before adhering the whole to a 10.5 x 15cm card.

Hij is nu klaar voor iemand die een steuntje in de rug nodig heeft voor deze periode. – It’s ready to give some support to someone during the holidays.
