Do you ever experience one of those days that, even when everything goes wrong around you, you still come to realise that you are one very lucky woman to live the life you have. More conscious than ever, I have been trying to see the beauty in the everyday things the last few months. We have been facing some ugly things around us lately, on a more personal level and on a broader level – don’t worry, we’re doing fine. But those random facts exactly, are the things that make me realise that I got lucky. Lucky to live in this country, in this house, with the man that I love, and both our kids. To be heatlhy, employed, at school, etc etc. We have our everyday struggles, just like everyone of you, but man … I can’t complain.
With this feeling in mind, I made my layout for this month’s Studio Tekturek challenge. The entire DT made a project based on the provided sketch, which happened to be a grid pattern. Now, was I happy to see that sketch! I had been dying to do a grid on a layout for a while, and this was my chance;) I used a picture of both my boy and girl. Even though these pictures did not belong together in any way, there was no problem in putting them together on this layout with this theme.
I kept the color scheme pretty pale and worked with the softer papers of Studio Tekturek’s Hey Kiddo collection. The die-cut paper came in very handy for this layout, as did the label stickers. In between I used a couple of shipping tags to which I added some embellishments. Some messy stitching here and there helps keeping smaller items in place. All in all this is again a very simple design. The journaling makes a frame around the entire piece.
I hope you’ll be able to join us in this challenge!
