Happy Anniversary

Geplaatst in: cardmaking 1

I seem to be on a cardmaking kick lately. I find myself struggling quite a bit with anything scrapbook related for some reason. My mojo appears to have left the building whenever picking up a picture. So I turn to cardmaking. I just love making cards lately. I pulled out the stamp set of this month’s Studio Calico card set, which had been calling me to play since it arrived.

I tried this card a few times before finding just what I liked. I tried different color combos on white cardstock. And when I finally had decided on the mint and white glitter combo, I thought the card needed just a little bit more than just a plane white background. I pulled out one of the Hello Today papers from Heidi Swapp. I have the 4.5 x 6.5 paper pad, just perfect for cardmaking.

So I stamped the different layers of the cake in Mint Hint dye ink by Studio Calico, and added the stand and rings in gold Memento ink. After letting everything dry thoroughly, I stamped the inner parts of the cake layers with my Essentials glue ink, and poured fine white glitter overtop. The effect is just stunning in real life. The banner also got stamped in gold, and I added the sentiment in Emerals City ink after drying.
