Fantastische kerst/fabulous Christmas | Joke

Hallo iedereen! De Kerst komt er weer aan, het zal allemaal een beetje anders zijn dan andere jaren, maar we maken er het beste van, en uiteindelijk zijn wij het zelf die ervoor zorgen of het een fantastische kerst wordt; niet het eten of de cadeautjes. – Hey everyone! Christmas is coming, it will be a bit different then other years, but we make the best of it, and in the end we decide whether or not it’s a fabulous Christmas; it’s not the food or the presents.

Deze keer maakte ik een slimline kaart. Die zijn helemaal je-van-het op het moment, en toegegeven; ze zijn ook erg leuk om te maken. Ik wilde graag een klassieke kerstkaart maken, maar niet saai. Een ander formaat doet het er dan al heel anders uitzien! – This time I made a slimline card. They’re all the rage right now, and I admit; they’re really fun to make. I wanted to make a classic Christmas card, but not boring. A different size makes it look different already!

Ik begon met het stempelen van de supermooie dennenappel uit de set ‘Een nieuw jaar’. Dit is een stempel die je ‘in laagjes’ stempelt, en je krijgt dan echt een hele gave, realistische dennenappel. Ik stempelde er best wel wat, om een mooie rand te maken voor mijn kaart. – I started with stamping the beautiful pinecone from the set ‘Een nieuw jaar’/’A new year’. This is a layered stamp, and you get a really cool, realistic looking pinecone. I stamped quite a few, to make a nice full border for my card.

Toen ik daarmee klaar was, stempelde ik wat groen op de kaart, sneed de dennenappels uit, en plakte de dennenappels daar over heen. Het zag er nu al mooi uit! Maar ik wilde nog graag een leuke tekst ook. Ik heb wat gepuzzeld, en met de woordstans ‘Fantastisch’ en de ‘e’ van de woordstans ‘Geweldig’ maakte ik het woord ‘fantastische’. Het woord ‘kerst’ komt van de set ‘Rendiergroetjes’, en de rest van de set ‘’t is je verjaardag’. Je kan zoveel combineren wanneer je goed zoekt! – After I finished stamping, I stamped some greenery onto the card, cut out the pinecones, and arranged them on the card. It looked good already! But of course I wanted a nice sentiment to go with it. I did some puzzling, and I used the word dies ‘Fantastisch’/’Fabulous’ and ‘Geweldig’/’Great’ to create the word ‘fantastische’. Which also means ‘fabulous’ in Dutch, but due to grammatical rules I have to use an extra ‘e’ to make it correct. The word ‘kerst’/’Christmas’ comes from the set ‘Rendiergroetjes’/’Reindeer greetings’, and the rest from the ‘’t is je verjaardag’/’It’s your birthday’ set. You can combine so much when you look for it!

Deze kaart heeft het allemaal; groen, dennenappels, goudglitter, wat wil je nog meer voor een kerstkaart? Ik wilde eerst een rode basiskaart gebruiken, maar ben toch eigenwijs geweest en heb een turquoise karton gebruikt. Het mag toch allemaal niet té klassiek worden he? 🙂 – This card has it all; greenery, pinecones, gold glitter, what more could you ask for in a Christmas card? I wanted to use a red basecard, but I decided that would be too classic for my taste. Can’t be too classic now can we? 🙂 So I used a teal cardstock instead, and I think it looks great!
