Dream | Studio Calico’s Weekly Challenge

Geplaatst in: scrapbooking 0

Over the past month or so I have been really struggling with my mojo and interest to scrap. For a while there, it really felt as if I had lost it completely. And for a brief moment, when I obviously must have completely lost my mind, I thought about quiting. Good thing I came to my senses almost immediately after – lol. No, seriously. Even though I had been feeling like a scrapping newbie, who has no clue on how to start a layout any more, I surely know that I love this hobby to bits and that I would never want to give it up just like that.

So I tried to come up with a way to overcome my scrapper’s block. I took a break, got my head off of scrapping, etc. Last week I came across the Studio Calico blog, and noticed the challenge for the week. Something I wanted to try my hand at.

So here’s my layout for this week’s challenge. I had a little play with the vellum. Some of the elements are placed on top, some are underneath to give them a softer look. It all started with that black and white floral paper underneath the picture. I thought it was a bit too harsh and wanted to soften it up with the vellum. And so it began.

In the upper right corner, I used one of June’s free cutting files from 2Peas. I loved this month’s free shapes, and can’t wait to see what next month will bring. I backed the banner up with some golden glitter tape by American Crafts, to match up the splashes of golden Stickles on my page.

Summer break started around lunch time out here, so now we’re officialy in holiday mode. Outside it’s cold and raining though. Too bad, but we kind of celebrated summer anyways. This also means that I will be blogging a lot less over the next two months. I will try to check in often, but I will not have a regular schedule, like I usually try to keep up with. My crafting time will be limited as well. But all for a good cause, isn’t it, quality time with kids and family. Whatever your plans are, I hope you’ll have an amazing summer (or winter if you’re in the Southern hemisphere). I’ll see you around.

Els.
