I’m on the Studio Tekturek blog today, sharing the first part of my December Daily. I know December seems long gone already, it certainly feels that way to me. But I’m determined to finish this album this time. I started it at the end of December, so I still have quite a lot to do, but I totally love the process. Once again, I’m getting stuck with the pocket scrapping (it is such a challenge to me), but this time I’m not going to let it overwhelm and discourage me. I’m enjoying the learning process, and am even considering jumping into some sort of Project Life this year.
For my title page I used the negative of the deer die-cut of the album cover. I backed it up with some of that fabulous red patterned paper of the Peachy Christmas collection from Studio Tekturek. At the back of this title page is an enlarged picture of our decorated christmas tree this year.
For me this is not a Christmas only album, it contains everyday subject as well, like one of the kids getting sick, etc. December 5th is the evening the kids put their shoe by the chimney and hope Sinterklaas brings them some toys and sweets. The pictures on the right page of the spread are taken the day after, when the kids are already enjoying their toys.
On day 8 we set up the Christmas tree. This particular event takes up a double spread in my album. All patterned papers for this part of the album are from Studio Tekturek’s Peachy Christmas challenge, as are the filler cards, like the ones used here. The ‘meet me under the mistletoe’ is one of my favorites.
December was an unusually warm month around here, except for a few days in the first half of the month when we reached temps around freezing point. A good excuse to use some of those cute flocked snowflake brads from last month’s Freckled Fawn Oh Deer Me kit.
I hope you don’t mind a little holiday cozyness early in January. I’ll sure be sharing the rest of my album once it’s done. See you later!
Els.

Hi Els,
That is so beautiful; Love the way you did the photos and then the paper and embellishments you used. You do , however, have the cutest subjects in Nora and Tuur!! I also really like the leaf!
Blessings,
Irene

Well, I think you ROCK the ‘PL’ style already…..the way you’ve used some sentiments with the pics – it’s totally BRILL & really cohesive as well:):):)
