Welcome to week 1 of my December Daily! Happy to finally have started and to be able to show you today. It was quite a struggle to get this album going, I couldn’t make up my mind on a lot of elements. And the dark short december days make it so difficult to shoot a decent picture. But I’m finally on it, and hoping to succeed in my plan to also finish my album.
To recap my philosophy of this project. I’m not planning on making a full blown album with multiple pictures and write-ups every day. I’m going for the light version, my Photo-A-Day project in a day-to-day physical album. So usually I’ll just have one picture a day (unless there’s some event I want to give more attention), with room for a bit of journaling. Choosing for this kind of approach will help me not put too much stress on myself, and will probably make it easier to keep up with it. Now, here we go:
Day 1 just had to have a picture of our Advent Calendar. I kept this really simple and made my picture as wide as the pages of my album. I chose to adhere this one to a vellum page and added a minimum of embellishments. This way the advent calendar stands out and gets all the attention. Once I’ve figured out what to do with my front page and album cover, I will add some journaling to the left page.
Day 2 is a picture taken at the Christmas fair. It is one of the paper ornaments I was selling there, more about them later on this month. The picture is sitting on some layers of tissue paper and is adhered to a patterned paper page from BasicGrey’s Aspen Frost collection.
I have some journaling on the left page. Since this is the backside of the advent calendar page, I chose to work with a journaling card the size of my picture.
Day 3 is a picture of my shopping loot as we were preparing for Sinterklaas to come. Day 4 shows some amazing supplies a sweet friend had send out to me. I truly am ‘blessed beyong measure’. The right side has a little journaling for day 3 and 4.
Day 5 doesn’t need much explanation. The little man needed a hair cut and made quite a fuss about it. It is done however.
Day 6, the morning we get to find out if Sinterklaas has stopped by our house or not. And he did, he must think we have some pretty good children.
This day has a smaller insert with journaling. And when I get the chance to make some good pictures, I will probably add a collage of the toys as well.
Day 7, the snow fall. As you might have noticed already, I had a good play with my silhouette for this album. The entire left page is a cut, I backed it up with some soft aqua colored patterned paper.
The snowflakes on the right side got a layer of Clear Rock Candy Distress Stickles. I’m highly addicted on that stuff lately – lol. Underneath the picture there’s an Ali Edwards journaling card tucked in a glassine bag.
So, that’s it for this week. Thank you if you made it all the way through this post. Since I’ve been using numerous supplies from my stash, I’m not going to list them all here at the end of this post. If you have any questions about what I used for these pages, don’t hesitate to ask.
Before I let you take off again, I just wanted to let you know that my Rock Your Kit class kits are now on clearance over in the Ribbon Carousel shop. And the online class itself is 15% off in my own online store. That’s a whole lot of money to save on my class if you would like to take it. Thanks for stopping by!
