December Daily 2012 | Part 2

25days_300I made it: another week of my December Daily is done. It was an effort at times, especially the picture taken on darker and just everyday days is not that easy. But here it is. Let me walk you through:

Day 8 was the day of my second workshop for making holiday cards. And with this came the end to a very busy holiday crafting season. Not that it’s all over already, but it’s a lot slower. I have a full page for my picture, and a smaller insert for my journaling.

Day 9 we put up the tree. The backside of the smaller insert again leaves a lot of room for my journaling, a full page for the pictures.

18774r_dt_blog I chose to go for multiple pictures today, since there wasn’t really one standing out. It’s a bit difficult to see, but I have some tone-on-tone texture on the background, made with gesso and a Studio Calico mask. The smaller white letters are BasicGrey’s tin types.

Days 10 & 11 are all about food – the good and the bad. Both are very simple pages.

18776r_dt_blog The food tab is the top of an Ali Edwards journaling card. I added the journaling for both pages to front and back of this card. Since both days were food-related I thought that was alright.

18777r_dt_blog 18778r_dt_blogDay 12 took Nora and me on a trip to the mall, actually for some non-holiday shopping. On the right side there’s a little embellished card, very similar to yesterday’s card I posted here on the blog. It’s sitting on a vellum page.

18779r_dt_blog So this means the backside follows the exact same shape of the front. Day 13 is when we took care of the birds in our backyard.

18780r_dt_blog 18781r_dt_blog On day 14 I went to a book fair. This is becoming a yearly tradition and has become my go-to event for children’s books, stickersheets for Nora, and crafty items. I usually buy an amount of stickers and books to get us through the birthdays and special events of the year. This year I also found some cool older BasicGrey stamps, for a very good price.

Still the designs of my pages are very simple. A way to keep this easy on myself and easier to persevere. If you have any questions about the supplies, don’t hesitate to ask.

If you made it this far through the post, you deserve a reminder of my giveaway and sale. Thanks for stopping by!

Els.
