Can you believe we’ve stumbled into April already? Time is going way to fast for my liking these days, but we’re trying to enjoy life as it is right now to the fullest. With a new month also a new challenge starts over on the Studio Tekturek blog. Theme this month is to let you get inspired by this fun & uplifting song.
[youtube=https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=y6Sxv-sUYtM]I just can’t sit still when hearing this song:) And inspiring too, you should try it. I went to work on my project and ended up with this layout. The song inspired me to go sunny, light and airy. And of course I also worked it into my title.
I played a lot with Versamark and my gold embossing powder for this layout. I made a few feathers out of white cardstock with my WPlus9 dies and cut my title with my Cameo, and embossed part of these elements in gold. I simply rubbed the die-cuts onto my ink pad for the partial embossing.
In the lower right corner I made a cluster of embellishmentsn which I repeated in the upper left corner of the page. Instead of choosing for 2 die-cuts there, I also used one of Jenni Bowlin’s feather rub-ons. I love the designs of these feathers. To finish up the layout, I added a little text stamping. I stamped the text off on a piece of scratch paper (at least once) before stamping onto my layout for a more subdued effect. I didn’t want the image to get too starck and overwhelming.
I hope you get to join us over on the Studio Tekturek blog for this fun challenge. You might win a set of these beautiful Sweet Memories papers, of if you’re really lucky maybe some of the brand spanking new collections that are coming real soon. Have you seen the sneaks here?
