Today is somewhat special. It’s my birthday … there, I said it. And although I don’t like celebrating it (it’s not an age thing, I just don’t like it), I did want to let you share with me. I have collected some fun goodies for this occasion. Some things I’m really loving these days.
The stickers, sticky bookmarks, and masking tape are from a local brand. I’m personally kind of in love with these items. I’ll share a layout with some of it really soon. And I added a few Maya Road items, and some WOW! glitter. I hope you like all of this just as much as I do.

I didn’t want to leave you without a card today. Earlier this month I came across the Simon Says Stamp Wednesday Challenge blog and saw this post about a Kids Summer Vacation Challenge. Nora immediately loved the idea, and wanted to play along. My sister celebrated her birthday yesterday (yes, she’s exactly 3 years and 1 day older). So she made a card for aunt Karien.
I gave her my Life of the Party paper pad by BasicGrey, and she was pretty excited about that ice cream felt shape. She got to work. Boy, that girl had a clear vision about what that card was going to look like. She made this one all by herself. The only thing I did was tracing her a pencil line where she wanted to cut the pieces of paper. It was awesome to see her work.
I’m pretty proud of my girl. Call me biased, but I think this looks good. You wouldn’t have guessed this was made by a 5-year-old. She might have some good genes – lol.

Mijn leukste verjaardag was nu volgende winter 10 jaar geleden, we hadden onze zoon nog net niet en daarom kreeg ik van mijn man een citytrip naar venetie kado, om klokslag 12u ‘s nachts stonden we op het san marco plein op mijn verjaardag…cool he

Allee allee, niet vraag je verjaardag vieren !!! Nu ik er zo over nadenk, ik vier ook liever feest voor iemand anders, heeft ook niks met leeftijd te maken,maar meer het feit dat iemand anders in de watten leggen en verrassen altijd plezant is.

Don’t want to be counted twice but forgot to tell about my favorite birthday! It was my 70th with a big surprise party but the best was my daughter alerted everyone I ever knew (even many former kindergarteners!) and I received 200+ cards. Loved that response 🙂

Van harte, Els! Mijn leukste verjaardag? Toen ik 18 was. Eerste jaar op kamers en toegezongen worden door studiegenoten om 12 uur (terwijl het eigenlijk om half 11 al stil moest zijn…)
Kaartje van Nora is echt heel gaaf. Nee, je zou niet zeggen dat dit een creatie van een vijfjarige is. Daar mag je trots op zijn. En het belooft nog wat voor de toekomst!

If you LIKED birthdays, I’d wish you a happy one…but since you DON’T like them I shall ignore it pretty much…but that lovely RAK is sooo worth commenting on….so I’m commenting….this should make you laugh…..I turned 50 & I HATE fuss, parties etc but have a mother who LOOOOVES Them [reverse roles, I know:/:/]….sooo she was planning a surprise [which I found out about, of course!] & I made my hubby drive me 1,000kms north, to QLD so that I could escape…….ostensibly to visit other rellies for the holidays. Worked for me! Phew! No party. YAY!!!!! Anyway, I think your girl is VERY clever, too. Definitely in the genes:):)

I love celebrating birthdays!! (I’m not a big-party person, but I love small birthday parties
or surprise parties)
My fav birthday was when I turned 30 … I got a surprise party.
First, I just had dinner here, with my closest friends but suddenly the blindfolded me
and I had to go outside…I couldn’t follow… and then…there were a lot of friends
and colleagues outside… they all were holding mini fireworks-sticks (or how do you call that)
It was really beautiful!! I had tears in my eyes…so catching!

Happy Birthday to you! What a sweet thing to do! I just love the color combo of your give away. Just looking at the items make me want to scrap this instant! My favorite Birthday was last year because my husband suprised me with the Silhouette Cameo. We normally do not spent that much money on Birthdays so to say I was shocked is an under statement. He knew how badly I wanted it for Christmas and told me that he didn’t have the heart to make me wait that long. What a sweetie he is!
