Hi,
I have my entry for the latest Embellish challenge for you today. I struggled quite a bit with that colorcombo.
I felt like making a boyish type of card (have to start practicing for all the upcoming layouts and cards for our little guy, right).
The striped strip of paper is from an October Afternoon patterned paper.
In a few weeks my birthday is coming up. And I might just cave in and ask/buy myself a die-cutting tool. Should I go manual or digital (or both – lol)? What are you using? What are your experiences and advices? Let me know. I read a couple reviews, but am still in doubt. Laat het me weten.
Thanks for stopping by! – Bedankt voor het bezoekje!
Els.

Such the perfect card for the challenge…love it!!!
I’ve always had manual die cutters…don’t have the power outlet in my craft area…I’m currently using a Cuttlebug and it works perfectly for me:)

Gorgeous card…..I know the doubt factor too with the die cutting machines….don´t own any probably cause of that reason too plus I really don´t know if I would use it all that much and I am already going bonkers in my artroom and if I add one more thing,,,well, I´d have to start knocking out walls so I cannot help you with your decision but when you decide please let us know which one you decided on….I would like to know what you think if it then. Good luck in your decision.

Hele leuke kaart!

Great congrats card, I love the row of patterns. I have a cuttlebug. Its compact and functions with most diecutting tools. I love it.

Hi Els, Great card…love the versamark numbers in the background. I have both a Cricut and a Sizzix and by far I us the Sizzix much, much more. It is much smaller and easier to store. I have learned to hook my Cricut up to the computer and use .svg files instead of buying the cartridges, but I still don’t use it often. I’d vote for a Sizzix or Cuttlebug.

hi els,
that is a gorgeous card…!! as usual,
for a quick and easy cutter , i like my cuttlebug, for more things and sizes the Cricut is great, but i think starting with a cuttle bug is a good idea. irene

Love this card! Those strips of patterned paper are perfect. 🙂
I have a Cuttlebug and I love it. I’ve never used a digital die cutting machine but I would almost feel like I was cheating if I used one – like it makes everything too easy. Just my opinion! Good luck with your decision!

Love your card, so simple and perfect for a boy. About a die cutting tool. The first crafting tool i got was the cuttlebug, and I love it! got a great deal over a HSN.com, just don’t forget to get the C plate it was not in the package deal and you need it for die cutting with most dies like PTI, my favorite things, nestabilities and such, you just don’t need it for the cuttlebug brand dies. If you can get a digital tool too I would go with the silhouette SD. My hubby got it for me for Mother’s day and I love it because that way I don’t have to buy a die for everything…it can get very expensive but I love my cuttlebug for embossing and to have to little extra touch of embossed edge for shapes, labels, that you get when you get when I die cut with the cuddlebug.

Love the simplicity and colors on your card! Perfect to use up some scraps.
When I was thinking about a reply re: cutting tools, the word that stuck out in your text was “beide”… hmh… haha 🙂 Now, in all honesty, I had a hard time deciding myself and went with the Cuttlebug in the end. At least since PTI came out with their dies and impression plates, I am sure it was the right decision – maybe not for my wallet but definitively for my crafty heart ;o) In case you want to go the digital route, Kristina Werner had at least one video on her blog where she compared the different machines (I think it was the Silhouette SD, Cricut and a Slice). Maybe the side by side results help you with your decision making?

This is stunning. My idea of a perfect card.
